On 18th-22nd June 2009 we went to Scotland with my parents. We managed to rent a nice MPV for a cheap price. We already went to Scotland last year but we only visited Glasgow. For this summer holiday we went to Edinburgh, Nairn, Inverness and Aviemore.
Adam the co-pilot...
the cramped MPV...
At Edinburgh we stayed for 1 night at Barony Castle Hotel...
The rooms have many beds because this is a popular venue for courses/conferences...
Free coffees (latte, cappuchino, espresso, name it) at the sun lounge...
The boys were tired from the long journey..
Then the next day we toured Edinburgh, a very beautiful old city. Edinburgh is not only famous for its gigantic Edinburgh Castle, but also for its 'Underground City', which were mainly inhabited by Irish immigrants during industrial revolution.
We spent the morning sightseeing the Royal Mile (a famous busy street at the heart of Edinburgh) up to Edinburgh Castle.
Edinburgh Castle is situated atop volcanic Castle Rock that has been inhabited since 900 BC. The first Royal castle was dated back to 1200 BC. It has been one of the most important fortresses in Scotland.
this photo is from Wikipedia since we don't have this view...
Papaboyz with the famous Scottish warrior, William Wallace...
to be continued....
